Retroverted - when did you feel baby kick?

Hi all
I have a retroverted uterus, and just wondered when other retroverted ladies felt their babies kick?
I'm on my second pregnancy and have no real worries, but I'm becoming inpatient! I'm 16 weeks now....
I don't see a midwife until 18 wks (for 16wk appoint) and don't have a scan until 20 wks and would like baby to give me some reassurance... I think I can feel wriggling but def no poking... I think because they are so far back....
Also, if you are retroverted and have been through delivery already, what positions did you find most comfortable... do you think it makes any difference?
Thanks
Sallypoo

I thought that if you have a retroverted uterous it ends up in the same position as a normal one (lol can't think what to call it) by the time you start showing with a pregnancy. It's only retroverted when it's empty and in the first trimester.
So it shouldn't make any difference at all to feeling kicks or delivery.
I've got one too by the way and am 16 weeks too.
hope that helps.

I have a retroverted uterus and started to feel flutters from 16weeks. No verdict on delivery yet though as 39 weeks with first but as far as I know your uterus ceases to be retroverted in pregnancy as all the uterus points upwards instead of forwards or backwards if that makes sense. Good luck!

Felt the last baby at about 17-18 weeks by the way, and haven't felt anything yet this time.

Have a retroverted uterus too. Felt mine move very late compared to average & also showed very late:
Felt DC1 about 24-5 weeks for sure
Felt DC2 about 21-22 weeks for sure
will let you know with dc3
Re delivery positions, I had no choice. Preferred position to labour in was standing up with dc1 but mw didn't like the look of the colour of my legs (wanted to tell them they always look that blue!) and had to labour on my back (stage 2 then took 4 hours). 2nd was with an epidural.
But if you think you can already feel wiggling it shouldn't be long now.

My uterus flopped backwards after having dd1. Felt baby move by about 13 wks in second pregnancy but definite kicks were later than with dd1. No idea yet about delivery - due any day now

I don't think a retroverted uterus would make any difference as it soon flips the right way as the baby grows. It's very early at 16 weeks to feel pokes or kicks so I really wouldn't be worried. Maybe your placenta's at the front - that would certainly dull the feelings.
I have a retroverted uterus normally. I'm coming up to 20 weeks and being poked and prodded all over the place. I've felt definite movements/kicks for the last 2 or 3 weeks I'd say, but intermittently until this last week.

Oh, and there is no way your uterus will still be retroverted by the time you give birth so it will make no difference at all! The honest answer - no position was comfortable a) because nothing's comfortable in labour, and b) because DS went OP. I ended up on my back, strangely, as it was the only position that finally got him moving.

By 12 weeks your uterus is in the same position no matter where it started )
I have a retrograde uterus and felt my first at 18 weeks, 2nd at 13 weeks and am feeling my 3rd now at 12 weeks.

Mine was still retroverted at 14 weeks when saw the consultant, she had a good feel! It does eventually stop being so. Have always gone back to being retroverted afterwards but doesn't always.

Hi all,
Many thanks. Particular thanks to Mrsmontano, Gaelicsheep & Heated. You've all made me feel much better.
I am sure I felt things earlier with baby #1, but the description of dull movements really does ring true... so maybe placenta is in a different position.
I was told my uterus was really far back at both my 12 week scans. I avoided an internal this time, but only just, he really had to push hard on my stomach to avoid having to use the probe!
I'll keep calm until I see the midwife in 2 weeks time and hopefully will have confirmation then that there is something still going on inside. You'd hope so with the size I am!
I didn't find any difference when giving birth, just wondered if anyone else did. I ended up on my back but that was because they wouldn't let me off the bed in the delivery suite!
Mrs Montano, what is your due date? mine's 12 July, but I'm expecting to be early as DS arrived at 36+6...
